Which Road Are You Traveling On?

A gentleman looked up from his desk and said, "We are all going to Heaven, we are just using different roads."

"Well sir," I replied, "in that case Jesus Christ died on the cross in vain."

"Why do you say that," he asked.

"Well, Jesus Christ said, 'I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.' (John 14:6)

Again the Bible says, "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12)

This means no church philosophy, no religion, no one but Jesus Christ can put you on the right road to heaven.

If you are going to get to Heaven, you must be sure of the way.

All roads do not lead to Heaven!

Wrong roads lead to wrong destinations! "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." (Proverbs 14:12) If you follow the road you are on today, where would you spend eternity? A man can go to hell in his own way, but he can only go to Heaven God's way.

It is important to have the right road map. A French map is of little use in the USA. The Bible, God's road map, says, "There is a broad road that leads to destruction and a narrow road that leads to eternal life." (Mathew 7:14) Today you are on one of these two roads. You cannot be on both roads at the same time. These two roads end at separate destinations - Heaven or Hell! WHICH ROAD ARE YOU ON?

Someday you are going to leave this world, but you do not know when? Today, do you know that when you leave, you are going to Heaven? To be prepared for Heaven, you need a new life. God does not offer to fix your old one or to improve it. He offers you a new life in Jesus Christ and this comes from a new birth. "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Heaven." (John3:3) Through His grace your sins can be forgiven and your past life blotted out. He died on a cross to provide this salvation as a free gift. It must be received by faith. He will then take up residence in your life, giving you power and grace to live for Him.

Do you want to be free from your sins? Your purposelessness? Your frustrations? Your emptiness? Jesus Christ can fill the void in your life, but the choice is yours. Jesus said, "Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37) Your acceptance of His invitation will determine the destiny of your soul forever.

Beware of the devil's "DETOURS." They are always "DEAD ENDS."

If you want to get to Heaven from where you are, you must be on the right road! You are at the cross-road right now and God gives you the choice. "Choose you this day whom you will serve" (Joshua 24:15) "As many as received him (Jesus Christ), to them gave he power become the sons of God even to them that believe on his name." (John 1:12)

Today, why not make your choice and call upon the Lord. "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Do not leave without knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour. You can pray right now and invite Jesus into your heart; then you will know you are on the right road to Heaven.
